This app saves lives by providing users real-time safety alerts.

Thousands of public safety organizations across the United States and Canada use the CodeRED community notification system to initiate emergency notifications. The CodeRED Mobile Alert app enables subscribers to receive these notifications directly to their personal cell phone whether at home, on the road, or traveling around the country. Alerts are initiated by authorized public safety officials to deliver location-based notifications and are not issued by OnSolve or its staff. Free alerts available*• Emergency • General • Missing person *PLEASE NOTE: If the public safety agency covering your current location is not subscribed to the CodeRED service, you will not receive alerts through this application. If your city or state does not currently subscribe to CodeRED, contact your local public safety organization today to let them know that your community would benefit from this service.Helpful hints:• Enable location services on your phone.• Your app account and the account you create for your community’s CodeRED system are NOT associated with each other. You must create separate accounts.• The CodeRED Mobile Alert app comes with a complimentary 30-day trial of CodeRED Enhanced Weather subscription that automatically alerts US-based subscribers of severe weather. The optional CodeRED Weather Warning add-on is an additional $0.99/year, but it is NOT required to receive emergency, general and missing person alerts.• The app also features the ability to view local radar footage for the past hour and satellite imagery of the previous 24 hours. Excellent warnings

As someone else said, it's a good idea but terrible in execution. Wants permission to use my camera and photos??? I seem to get no notifications or too many, I gave up on it.

App texted me about a tornado warning 40 minutes after the warning EXPIRED, which was completely useless. Fortunately my city has sirens and was able to activate them in a timely manner. Also sent a text about severe thunderstorm warning 34 minutes after the warning expired. Not effective and I don't know why my city emergency management recommends this app...

Why, when I open the Code Red app on my phone, does it say I need to install the NH Alert Services (for New Hampshire) when I live in Arkansas? This makes no sense!!! This app needs to be fixed ASAP!

App is buggy and crashes when navigating some menu options. Doesn't let you filter warnings by location. Notifications are unhelpful, uninformative. It doesn't request the system permission to access location data at all times, so it only notifies when you open the app. The satellite and radar overlays are completely opaque, hiding the map underneath. They should be partially transparent. Just a poorly executed design. The concept is good but the implementation needs work.
